A further response to previous works 'Black 1, 6, 16, 17 and 19'.
This part of the course was on "...how 'black' operates in a 2 dimensional space in both western and non western art."
Discussed was, "..visual art from indigenous artists (Maori and Aboriginal) and non indigenous artists...in terms of how black is used and whether there is a space for cross cultural dialogue. The question raised: Is there a space in visual language particularly 'black' that creates and opens a dialogue that respects cultural difference in painting?"
